Behind-the-Scenes Documentary for Hume Lake Christian Camps

Every summer, Hume Lake creates a theme film that ties directly into the teaching focus of their camps. What started years ago as small, simple projects has grown into full-scale productions—with larger crews, complex sets, and stories designed to engage students and point them to Jesus. These films are a big part of what makes Hume’s summer camp experience so memorable.

For Elyon, Hume invited Wyld Story to capture the process behind the scenes and create a documentary that gives students a glimpse into how these films are made. Our goal was to show the hard work, creativity, and collaboration that go into every scene—and to get students excited about what’s waiting for them at camp.

Over ten days of filming, we documented everything from set construction and costume design to on-location shoots and late-night edits. We talked with the cast and crew, capturing their heart for why they do what they do—not just to make a great film, but to tell a story that reinforces the biblical truth students will be learning all week long at camp.

The editing process took about three weeks, carefully weaving together all the pieces to create a behind-the-scenes film that was both informative and inspiring. The documentary was posted on Hume’s YouTube channel several months before camp as a way to promote sign-ups and give students a look at what’s to come.

At Wyld Story, we love telling stories that show the purpose behind the production. This project was a great reminder that when people come together with creativity, intention, and faith, powerful things happen.
